Truckloads, also known as Full Truckloads (FTL or sometimes TL), are typically priced by the mile, as this service, usually gives you exclusive use to the flatbed or van, regardless of how full the particular trailer is. Truckload shipping can utilize van or flatbed trailers, depending on your shipment configuration. Often truckload shippers contact truckload carriers even though the particular shipment in question may not fill up an entire trailer.
